Wow what a night we had at the Edmonton track on Sat night.
The record crowd were treated to a spectacular night of racing from all divisions except the formula 500s.
The new junior division put on some great racing. This division is gaining more interest each meeting.
Outlaws were at their usual best ,with the super fours and stock fours all doing their best to gain points for the years total
Modified productions put on another great show albeit without a couple of regulars who are away on leave.
The ever popular Sprint cars were on fire once again, although their numbers were down. The visiting teams from Brisbane and Mackay helped to make it interesting night. Local driver Justin Smith is starting to get the hang of the power of sprinters compared to his old steed in the bomber division. What a buzz this guy must be getting.
The main attraction of the night was the super sedan classic where we were treated to great driving by visiting Australian champ Darren Kane who was in the Wayne Miles 88 car. Although all drivers in this class put on a spectacular show including the wheel lifting Gary Pagel, nothing could be taken away from Townsville hotshot Chris Jensen, who passed Kane on the hi-line and took the chequed flag in a nail biting finish.
Thanks goes out to all our volunteers and of course the race fans. Also many thanks to our valued sponsors in all divisions.
Next meeting is on 29th August
Cheers,
Wayne Allen,
Speedway president.
